I think the tor browser is one of the most important pieces of software on the internet itself right next to things like the the way back machine and the archive itself. I do think that the tor network gets a lot of bad reputation especially from platforms like youtube as most of the videos dont explain that its a tool used for free speech and a tool to protect whistleblowers and journalists and freespech as a whole also in countrys such as Iran, China, Egypt, and North korea. These countrys have extreme censorship making it so their citizens dont have the right to speak up all though things such CSAM, drugs, weapons, and hitmen for hire. Even though I think the hitmen part can be very fake the tor network hosts the worst and most vile parts of humanity and its not very easy to avoid. This doesn't mean its exclusive to the tor network apps and websites such as telegram and signal or even whatsapp have those types of deals going on if you look closely all that said the point is that the tor network is free and uncensored which means awful and horrible things will happen on there but it gives people restricted by their goverment a way to speak up.
